Wordle

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends. Here is a sample image that I created.
The HEA strategy
This tool is free to use and is available through http://www.wordle.net/
I used wordle images as revision tools, by preparing an ideal answer to an exam and capturing a wordle image of the answer. I then integrated the image into a powerpoint slide and used it in class to generate a class discussion on what should be included in the ideal answer.
